Facilities Updates
By: Ana Katrina Cornelio

As we approach the completion of the Culinary Center at Enderun Colleges, McKinley Hill, Taguig City on September 20, 2009, there is no doubt that a lot of people are looking forward to it. The edifice will include the teaching restaurant named 101 by ADF+Enderun and a bar that would house Old World and New World wines and other beverages amid special lighting fixtures that will provide a relaxing ambience to the guests. More important, the Center will house state-of-the-art kitchens where students master culinary arts in theory and practice.

Aside from the Culinary Center, a Multipurpose Court was also built behind the Embassy Building. The court, which is used for basketball, tennis, and futsal, is made with rubberized flooring, and in time, roof and steel bleachers. The construction of the Multipurpose Court aims at providing students with a venue for their sporting activities. It will also serve as a facility for the students’ physical education classes, inter-college tournaments, and as alternate venue for school events.

Mr. Fernan Amor, Facilities Consultant of Enderun Colleges, stated that there are still no concrete plans for the future buildings in Enderun. However, he said that the management is contemplating on the design of the next building similar to a congress building, which will be a four-floor structure with white stone pillars. This will house the Auditorium, Library, and Student Union, including additional classrooms. An indoor swimming pool may also be included in the new building.

The concept for the next building is expected to be finalized at the end of the year while completion of construction is targeted in 2011.

Other future structure plans include a car park facility next to the Culinary Center, which will either be underground or above ground; a dormitory; and footpaths or walkway leading one building to the next.
